Young Friends Have Gathering with “Bondfire”
The Young Friends (teenaged Friends) held their annual “bondfire” – a bonfire for bonding with each other and making s’mores – last Friday. They also enjoyed pizza and a “lock-in”, staying  overnight at the Meetinghouse with a couple Friendly Adult Presences.
The fire was perfect for warmth and toasting marshmallows:

RFM Clerk Randee Humphrey’s Remarks Given at the Standing Together Press Conference
Randee Humphrey, Clerk of Richmond Friends Meeting, joined a number of religious and organizational leaders at a Standing Together press conference, held at Temple Best-El on December 1, 2016, to demonstrate support for those who were increasingly targeted over the previous month and to stand together against divisive and bigoted rhetoric and actions. Along with others, Randee delivered prepared remarks.

Coffee and Conversation at Rise of Meeting
The Ad Hoc Working Group on Welcoming and Growing our Meeting asks Friends to volunteer to serve coffee at rise of Meeting on Sundays through April, unless there is a pot-luck or an event scheduled after Meeting for Worship. A sign-up sheet is posted in the hallway near the side entrance.
It is hoped Friends will stay for coffee and conversation, and get to know newcomers and visitors.
Friendly Bible Study
In addition to the monthly Bible Workbench, Bible Study takes place each month on the 3rd Sunday at 9:45–10:45, using these questions from the Friends General Conference pamphlet Friendly Bible Study: What is the author’s main point in the passage? What new light do I find in this reading of the text? Is the passage true to my experience? What are the implications of the passage for my life? What problems do I have with the passage?
We meet in classroom #1 (next to the library). The meeting newslist publishes the passages for each month’s study.
