The Adult Spiritual Education Committee is hosting an introduction to Quakerism, “Quaker Curious?” on Saturday, June 6, from 11:00 am to Noon.

WWG Intergenerational Talent Show
The WWG Intergenerational Talent Show will be during Spring Retreat on Saturday, May 23 at 3 pm at The Clearing
Things to Know:
All ages are invited to participate – children AND adults.
- Acts must be preapproved by the WWG Talent Show Coordinators
- Must be able to attend the Spring Retreat Talent Show on May 23!
- No real weapons; no supporting violence.
- If you wouldn’t want your mother, boss, or principal to see it, don’t perform it/write it.
Talent Show auditions will be held here in the Community Room on Saturday, April 25 from 1-3 pm. We want to make space for as many participants as possible. Auditions will serve as a dress rehearsal and help us keep within time limits. You do NOT need to stay for the entire time. Present your act and you are free to leave. Sign up sheets may be found in the mailroom or hanging on the bottom of our posters throughout the Meetinghouse.

Apartheid in Israel/Palestine Workshop, May 3
Don’t miss the rescheduled May 3 discernment workshop on joining the Apartheid-Free Communities Coalition, to be held at Richmond Friends Meeting, in person and online.
An ice storm bumped our guest speaker from the February schedule, but now, fresh back from Israel/Palestine, Steve Chase will speak to Friends about nurturing a sustainable peace by ending our complicity with the US-backed system of apartheid in Palestine … how Quakers can work nonviolently and effectively for peace, justice, and equality for all Palestinians and Jewish Israelis.
On First Day, May 3rd, Steve will speak at 1:00, with ample time for questions and discussion. This will follow the usual 11:00 am worship, then snacks and finger food, at the Richmond Meetinghouse, 4500 Kensington Ave., Richmond 23221. Or all are invited to attend virtually at this zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/
Steve Chase is a long-time Quaker activist, educator, and writer. He is a member Friends Meeting of Washington and is FMW’s Liaison to the American Friends Service Committee. In 2017, he began his public ministry on seeking a just peace in Israel/Palestine with the publication of his Pendle Hill pamphlet #445, Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions? A Quaker Zionist Rethinks Palestinian Rights.
Workday at the Meetinghouse, April 25
Friends, please join us for a morning of maintaining our meetinghouse and the grounds. Saturday, April 25, 9 to 12: Come for an hour or two or three. We will be planting and weeding, spreading mulch in the playground, fixing up the handicap ramp, cleaning woodwork inside and oiling benches. Come! We need you. Rain date is May 2.
